Money Found To Put Fluoride Back In Conway Water

    By Melissa Dunbar-Gates

The Conway Corporation board of directors has amended its 2008 water department budget to help put fluoride back in the water. The vote was taken just this week.

Conway Corporation stopped putting fluoride in its water last October because the acidic chemical eroded a pipe at the water treatment plant. The public utility did not tell residents about removing the fluoride, which upset many, including local dentists. Conway Corporation CEO, Richard Arnold, has since apologized about that.

The utility allocated $225,000 to help fix the pipe at the water treatment plant.

Fluoridation could resume at the earliest in November.
