Kennedy on fluoridation: Don't trust dogma from trade groups

    By Todd Vogts
    Staff Writer

Environmental Activist and Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was on the Hutchinson Community College campus on Nov. 16 as part of the Dillon Lecture Series.

During a pre-lecture press conference, Kennedy spoke with the media about both local and national topics such as wind farms in McPherson County, fluoridation, the Bush Administrations actions in the realm of environmental matters and the irresponsible press.

When asked about his views on fluoridation, Kennedy said that he personally had not looked into the subject much, but he was interested in the topic. He also said that he was skeptical of anything the American Dental Association said about the matter.

“It is healthy to be skeptical of claims by the American Dental Association,” he said.

Kennedy said trade groups often are wrong on such things and are driven by profits.
