    Lexington, Nebraska, to put fluoridation on November ballot

    ... In other business, the council has also opted to place the matter of adding fluoride to the city's water supply before a public vote on the November election ballot.

    People who check 'yes' on the ballot will be voting to approve the ordinance that prohibits adding additional fluoride to the city water supply. City wells have naturally occurring fluoride in place that is already above minimum standards.

    Nebraska Statutes requires any city with a population of 1,000 or more to add fluoride to the city's water system unless the voters adopt an ordinance before June 1, 2010 to prohibit the addition of fluoride...
