    --- The following excerpt is the paper's comment on fluoridation issue.

    ... LOSER: Anti-fluoride campaigns. Fluoride has a 60-year record of safety and effectiveness in preventing tooth decay. But once again, fluoride foes have succeeded in getting decent legislation sidelined so Oregon cities won't have to fluoridate their water supply. Oregon ranks 48th in the nation in percentage of residents with fluoridated water.
